Focus on Climate Action!

At Bowles and Walker plastic injection moulding, we have been paying a lot of attention to the COP27, held in Sharm El-Sheikh this year. The main talks revolve around implementing the previous COP agreements and moving forward together to avoid further climate disasters. As remarked by the UN Climate Change Executive Secretary, Simon Stiell, during the opening ceremony:

“Paris gave us the agreement. Katowice and Glasgow gave us the plan. Sharm El-Sheikh shifts us to implementation. No one can be a mere passenger on this journey. This is the signal that times have changed”

Hopefully the talks will end smoothly and the various issues great and small will be resolved, and we can all start to work together for the common good of the world.

With the focus on being sustainable, environmental and responsible, Bowles and Walker have also been trying to be more so, attending various related meetings over the last couple of months.

The Greater Norwich Manufacturing Group meeting was held on the 13th October at Delta Fire Ltd, a great event with many local manufacturers, service providers and supporting groups.

Breckland Council held an interesting ‘NetZero for Business’ conference on the 10th November, with lots of thought-provoking talks that certainly inspired new ideas.

While moving towards the end of the month, we are planning to attend the Norfolk Netwalking event (25th November) where likeminded people can walk and talk, hopefully inspiring some collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Looking at the remainder and coming year, Bowles and Walker intend to meet and interact more with other local companies, and to find out how we can progress and help others with the journey down the Net Zero road. Hopefully, even in just a small way, Bowles and Walker can help contribute to the UK's promises made at the COP27 and beyond in the years to come.
